The core idea

When you first learn something, you tend to forget it quickly. But each time you successfully recall it, the memory gets stronger and lasts longer.

Spaced repetition takes advantage of this by scheduling reviews at increasing intervals. The first review might come a couple of days after you learn something. Then a few days after that. Then a week. Then a month. Each successful review pushes the next one further out.

How Epivo uses it

Epivo uses an algorithm called FSRS to schedule every topic you study. When the tutor introduces a new topic, it schedules the first review. After each review, the timing adjusts based on how well you did:

  • Got it right? The next review is pushed further into the future
  • Struggled? The interval is reduced significantly so you see it again sooner

This means you spend more time on what you find difficult and less time repeating what you already know.

Why it works

Research has shown that spaced repetition is one of the most effective study techniques. It is far more efficient than cramming or re-reading notes.

With Epivo, you do not have to manage the schedule yourself. The system handles it automatically, so you can focus on learning.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to study every day for spaced repetition to work?
Regular practice helps, but you do not need to study every single day. Epivo adjusts the schedule to account for gaps. Consistency matters more than perfection.
