How we handle your data

Epivo collects the minimum data needed to provide the service:

• Account information — your name and email address (provided during sign-up or via Google Sign-In, which also shares your user ID and profile picture URL)
• Student profiles — names and ages of learners
• Learning data — progress, mastery levels, session history, and learning plans
• Session content — what was discussed during tutoring sessions
• Device and usage data — device type, operating system, app version, an app installation identifier, IP address, and app diagnostics and crash reports; in the Android app, where ad measurement is on, a Google Analytics identifier and, for adults, the advertising ID (see our privacy policy)

We do not collect precise or GPS location, and we cannot see anything from other apps on your device. We do derive an approximate country and timezone from your connection — the country decides which consent rules apply and the timezone decides when a daily limit resets — and our website counts page visits when analytics cookies are allowed.

To deliver a lesson we pass session content to a small set of named processors for speech-to-text, the AI model and voice synthesis, and encrypted backups and session archives are held with a storage provider. They are all listed on our sub-processors page.

Your data is used to:

• Provide the tutoring service (the tutor needs to know your progress)
• Improve the learning experience
• Generate certificates and progress reports
• Communicate with you about your account

We do not sell your data. We never use it to choose adverts for you. If you arrived from one of our adverts, we tell that advertising platform which steps followed, as described in our privacy policy, and never for a learner we know is too young to consent on their own. In our Android app, Google can also measure how the app is used, so we can tell which adverts bring people who learn; when a plan is bought for a measured learner, Google also receives that purchase and its value. This is only for learners old enough to decide for themselves: we ask first where the law requires it and show a notice everywhere else, and you can turn it off at any time under Ad measurement in the app's Preferences. We never share your data so that anyone can market to you or build an advertising profile of you.

• Data is stored in secure, managed databases
• Access is restricted to authorised personnel
• We follow industry-standard security practices
