When each voice tier is used

Epivo follows a simple priority order:

1. Premium — used if you have a Mini or Max subscription and have selected a teacher persona with a Premium voice
2. Standard — used if Standard voice models have been downloaded to your device (default for Free plan users and as a fallback for paid users)
3. Basic — used as a fallback when Standard voices are not yet downloaded

• First session ever: Standard voices may still be downloading. You might hear Basic for the first few minutes, then Standard once the download completes.
• Mini or Max user: Premium voice is used throughout the session when a Premium teacher is selected.
• Free user: Standard voice after initial download. Basic as fallback.
• Internet drops mid-session: If you were using a Premium voice, Epivo falls back to Standard (if downloaded) or Basic. The session may be interrupted since speech recognition and AI responses also need the internet.
• Switching languages: When learning a new language, the appropriate voice model for that language is downloaded automatically.
