No sound at all
- Check your volume — make sure your device volume is turned up and not muted
- Check your audio output — if using Bluetooth headphones, make sure they are connected
- Check your internet connection — Epivo requires internet for all features, including speech recognition and AI responses
- Restart the app — close Epivo completely and reopen it
- Check permissions — Epivo needs microphone permission, but sound output should work without special permissions
Robotic or unnatural voice
If the tutor sounds robotic, you are likely hearing the Basic (device built-in) voice. This happens when Standard voices have not finished downloading.
- Wait a moment — Standard voice models download in the background and activate automatically
- Check your internet connection — the initial download requires an internet connection
- Restart the session — after the download completes, start a new session to switch to Standard
Slow or choppy speech
- Premium voices need a stable internet connection — if your connection is slow, speech may buffer or stutter. Try switching to a stronger Wi-Fi network.
- Standard voices run locally — if Standard voices are choppy, your device may be under heavy load. Close other apps and try again.
- Older devices may struggle with voice synthesis. Try restarting your device to free up resources.
