Where the lesson material comes from
Every Epivo course is written in advance, before any learner sees it. It is written with AI and then checked by separate AI reviewers against our authoring rules. No teacher or subject expert signs off each piece, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
Our authoring rules require facts and quotes to cite a published source, and they prefer original documents and scholarly references over general websites. A lesson article's source link is only shown once that article has passed the fact-check described below.
The course material is fixed. The tutor's own words are not: they are generated live in each conversation.
How the lesson material is fact-checked
Before written lesson material can be taught, an AI checks its key facts against independent published sources. Anything that check finds wrong is then re-checked, independently, by a second AI. Confirmed errors are corrected or the material is removed; anything the two disagree about is held back and not taught. It is not shown with a warning attached. New material is not taught until it has been through this check.
What the tutor is told to do
The tutor is instructed to:
- Teach only what is in the learner's enrolled courses
- Use general knowledge only for brief explanations and comparisons that connect back to the course
- Never invent facts, dates or quotes, and say so when it isn't sure
Those are instructions, not guarantees. An AI can still get something wrong, which is why the next two sections matter.
What we check afterwards
An AI reviews a sample of real sessions afterwards and grades the teaching quality. Its findings are used to improve how the tutor teaches.
If something the tutor says looks wrong, please report it: open the menu in the app and tap Report issue. It comes straight to us.
Checking the sources yourself
You don't have to take our word for any of this.
- In the app: during a lesson, open the menu, tap Sources and pick a session. You'll see the articles, quotes, facts, images and videos that session drew on, including links to the original sources and image credits. It lists the material the session used, not every sentence the tutor spoke.
- If you are a parent, in the parent portal at app.epivo.ai: open a topic your child is studying and go to the Lesson tab. It shows the written lesson and its sources, where they exist. Some topics don't have a written lesson yet.
