Why headphones are better

With headphones:

  • Barge-in works reliably — you can interrupt the tutor at any time by speaking
  • Cleaner audio input — the microphone only picks up your voice, not the tutor’s speech
  • Better focus — you hear the tutor clearly without background noise interference
  • Private learning — conversations are between you and your tutor

Any headphones work: wired earbuds, over-ear headphones, or Bluetooth.

Using loudspeaker

Loudspeaker mode works, but with limitations:

  • No barge-in — the microphone picks up the tutor’s voice, so you need to wait for the tutor to finish speaking before you respond
  • Echo risk — in quiet rooms, the device may hear its own audio and get confused

Loudspeaker is fine for casual sessions, but headphones are strongly recommended for the best learning experience.

Do I need special headphones?
No. Any headphones with a microphone work, including the ones that came with your phone. Bluetooth headphones work too.
